Do These 5 Marketing Things. Forget the Rest.

Spoiler: You probably don't need another Instagram account.
Instagram. TikTok. Google. SEO. Emails. Ads. Reels. Blogs. AI.
Good grief.
Somewhere along the way, running a small business turned into running a full-time marketing department.
Here's your permission to stop trying to do everything.
If I were starting a small business tomorrow, these are the five things I'd focus on first.
The 5 Things That Actually Drive Sales
Get found. Show up where people are already looking for what you sell. Start with Google and a website that clearly explains what you offer.
Get chosen. Make it easy to buy. Clear pricing, great photos, customer reviews, and one obvious next step.
Bring them back. Your happiest customers already know you. Give them a reason to return with thoughtful follow-ups, emails, or special offers.
Get people talking. Ask happy customers for reviews and referrals. A good recommendation can go further than another hundred posts.
Follow the money. Find out which marketing brings in paying customers, not just likes. Do more of what works.
What About Everything Else?
It can wait.
Start with what brings in customers, earns their trust, and keeps them coming back.
Because the goal isn't to become a full-time marketer. It's to build a profitable business that gives you more of your life back.
